Introductory text
For his Activa concept car, Art Blakeslee designsed the lines of a huge low sedan, with a future facing design: a fluid scarlet body, rear-hinged doors, and futurist interior controls.
Technology lovers were not forgotten: four-wheel steering, traction control, and hydractive suspension to renew the fun of driving. Steering, braking and suspension are controlled together by three electronic computing units coupled to the hydraulic unit. The V6 engine corresponds to 3 litres PRV 24-valve 200hp.
At the forefront, the Activa, called Activa 1, foreshadowed the coming XM and Xantia – which owe their hydractive suspension to this model – and the Activa 2 concept car of 1992, with a more conventional Coupé shape.
